Thoughts for the Month
November
We consider that the LORD is the great Way-maker – Isaiah 43:14-25
1. The Lord reminds us who He is and what He has done
a: The Lord is redeemer V14; 29:22; 43:1; 48:17; Deuteronomy 5:15;
b: The Lord is the Holy One V14; 1:4; 4:3; 5:16; 41:14; 48:17; 54:5
c: the Lord is Israel’s creator V15; V21; 40:26; Gen 1:1-3; Gen 2:7
d: The Lord is King: Israel’s king – but king over all, Psa 24:7; 47:2; 89:18
e: The Lord made a way through the sea and a path through the waters
The crossing of the Red Sea – the great act of the Lord for His people.
In every situation the Lord can make a way, a path for you.
2. The Lord says, ‘Forget the former things’
a: Forget the former things – really? The examples of Paul and Peter
b: Do not dwell on the past
The problem is not to think about ‘former things’ but to dwell on them.
3. The Lord says, ‘See, I am doing a new thing!’
a: I am doing a new thing … If we dwell on the past – we will miss it
But God tells us to see! Someone wrote, ‘’It’s a ‘See!’ with an exclamation mark!
b: Now it springs up… The Lord committed himself to them to do good
c: God is making a new way the new way of deliverance will be different
A new way that would seem impossible – but God can make a way.
God can make a way for you too
